Soccer Game Preview: Marion vs. East Rochester

The Marion Black Knights will venture away from home to challenge the East Rochester Bombers at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Marion took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Red Creek.

Meanwhile, East Rochester strolled into their game on Wednesday with an undefeated record and they left with the same. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against North Rose-Wolcott. The final result isn't all that surprising considering East Rochester's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' New York soccer rankings (they are ranked 36th, while North Rose-Wolcott are ranked 223rd).

East Rochester's victory bumped their record up to 7-0-1. As for Marion, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Marion might still be hurting after the 9-1 loss they got from East Rochester in their previous matchup on September 4th. Can the Black Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
