Softball Game Preview: Scott Highlanders vs. Anderson County Mavericks

Scott is 0-6 against Anderson County since March of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. Scott will venture away from home to challenge Anderson County at 2:45 p.m.

Scott is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 16th straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They came up short against Clinton, falling 9-1.

Meanwhile, Anderson County got themselves on the board against Lenoir City on Friday, but Lenoir City never followed suit. They walked away with a 5-0 win over the Panthers.

Not much got past Addison Grooms, who gave up just six hits to keep Lenoir City off the board. What's more, Grooms posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hallie Hooks, who scored three runs and stole two bases. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bella Brummit, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one RBI.

Anderson County's record now sits at 12-7. As for Scott, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Scott suffered a grim 13-0 defeat to Anderson County in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Scott avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
