Basketball Recap: Leo Comes Up Short

Leo was the 59-52 winner over Fort Wayne Snider when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Leo Lions fell to the Fort Wayne Snider Panthers 73-69. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (57), the Lions still had to take the loss.

Fort Wayne Snider's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Qualyn Clopton, who went 5-for-10 en route to 17 points and five assists. That's the most assists Clopton has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylin Fertil, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 16 points and six boards.

Leo dropped their record down to 11-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points over those games. As for Fort Wayne Snider, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-9.

Coming up, Leo and Westview will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. As for Fort Wayne Snider, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Blackford at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Fort Wayne Snider is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.3 points per game this season.
