Softball Recap: Leipsic Wins Going Away Against Ottawa-Glandorf

Leipsic's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the Ottawa-Glandorf Titans 11-2. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Vikings considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Alexys Hermiller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ava Schroeder, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three doubles, and two RBI. Peyton Schroeder was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

The victory got Leipsic back to even at 1-1. As for Ottawa-Glandorf, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leipsic will head out to square off against Van Buren at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ottawa-Glandorf, they will venture away from home to challenge Paulding at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
