Baseball Recap: Penobscot Valley Comes Up Short

If Penobscot Valley was feeling good fresh off their 19-2 takedown of Greenville on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Howlers fell just short of the Woodland Dragons by a score of 7-6 on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Howlers in their meetings with the Dragons: they've now lost five in a row.

Penobscot Valley saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Hamel, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Chase Osgood was another, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Penobscot Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Woodland, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Penobscot Valley nor Woodland have any future games scheduled.
