Baseball Recap: Willow Spring Comes Up Short

Willow Spring was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders, falling 12-1. The Storm were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Willow Spring got a good showing from Chadburn Turner, who tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Willow Spring saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Marsh, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Willow Spring's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Cardinal Gibbons, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, Willow Spring will face off against Middle Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cardinal Gibbons, they will challenge Jordan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jordan knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Cardinal Gibbons likes a good challenge.
