Basketball Game Preview: McLaurin Tigers vs. Richland Rangers + Official Tickets

The McLaurin Tigers will head out to face off against the Richland Rangers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in McLaurin's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.

On Tuesday, McLaurin made easy work of Lake and carried off a 62-37 victory. With the Tigers ahead 43-21 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

McLaurin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but KJ Cannon led the charge by dropping a double-double with 18 points and ten boards. The Tigers are undefeated when Cannon posts ten or more rebounds, but 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Trent White, who went 5-for-6 to rack up 14 points along with six assists and five boards.

McLaurin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, after only 29 points in their last matchup, Richland made sure to put some points up on the board against Loyd Star on Tuesday. The Rangers managed a 55-49 win over the Hornets. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Rangers' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Richland's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for McLaurin, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Everything came up roses for McLaurin against Richland in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as the team secured a 60-31 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
