League recap: Colcord stuns Salina in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Salina, who took down 184th ranked Salina, 35-15.

Commerce extended the longest winning streak in 2A District 8 this week by beating Kansas, 21-18. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.

Quapaw's dynamic duo of Seth Brumley and Heath Glerup proved tough for Ketchum to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Brumley threw for 163 yards and one touchdown and Glerup had 82 yards receiving. Tyler Bacon helped Quapaw's passing attack out by catching four balls for 61 yards.

DC Chance was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 126 yards on 17 carries as Commerce beat the Warriors. Parker Morgan also contributed to the rushing game with 104 yards on the ground.

Quapaw's Brumley and Bacon have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Brumley has thrown for 1002 yards this season, while Bacon, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 39 catches for 612 yards. Morgan from Steve Moss's team leads the league in rushing with 679 yards.

A big matchup in 2A District 8 this week will be when Brad Homer's team takes on Colcord. As it stands, the Wildcats are in sixth, while the Hornets are in third.

Wyandotte was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in the league. Earlier in the week, the Bears triumphed over Hulbert 28-7.
