Softball Recap: Buckeye's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Buckeye took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Greenway, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Hawks had just enough and edged out the Demons 7-6. The victory was some much needed relief for the Hawks as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Hailee Paladini spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Sofia Villa was incredible, going 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleikaumaka Ellis, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

Buckeye's win bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Greenway, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-9-1.

Buckeye didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-4 loss against Willow Canyon on the 28th. As for Greenway, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 20-1 victory against Dysart on the 28th.
