Recap: Perry County Vikings vs. Summertown Eagles

The Perry County Vikings suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of Summertown by a score of 64-61. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game two weeks ago (60), Perry County still had to take the loss.

Perry County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Colton Pevahouse, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten assists. Another player making a difference was Landon Warren, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and two steals.

Summertown was led to victory by Grayson Burleson and Kurt Burleson. Burleson scored 19 points along with five assists and four steals, while Burleson dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. Burleson has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 14 times he's played. Ty Bryant was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Perry County and nudges their season record down to 5-8. As for Summertown, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Perry County will face off against Collinwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Summertown's road trip will continue as they head out to face Moore County at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th.
