Baseball Recap: Junipero Serra Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Junipero Serra couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the De La Salle Spartans by a score of 5-4 on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Padres in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost four in a row.

Riley Lim was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Evan Bradshaw was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Junipero Serra's loss dropped their record down to 28-7. As for De La Salle, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 19 of their last 20 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-4 record this season.

As of now, neither Junipero Serra nor De La Salle have any future games scheduled.
