Soccer Recap: Poquoson Comes Up Short

Poquoson managed to slip by Kecoughtan the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Islanders came up short against the Warriors on Wednesday, falling 5-1. The matchup was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Poquoson couldn't quite close it out.

Poquoson dropped their record down to 4-7-1 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Kecoughtan, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Poquoson will face off against Bruton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Poquoson's defense better be ready for this one: Bruton have averaged an impressive 3.2 goals per game this season. As for Kecoughtan, they will challenge Gloucester at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kecoughtan will need to watch out since Gloucester have now posted at least four goals in their last three games.
