Softball Game Preview: Rogers Rams vs. Emerald Ridge Jaguars

The Rogers Rams will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Emerald Ridge Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rogers will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Rogers is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Curtis a 22-0 shutout on Monday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Emma Mitchell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Mitchell was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Madelyn Stanaway was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Sam Mitchell was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI.

Meanwhile, Emerald Ridge came up short against Hanford on Saturday, falling 12-1. The matchup marked the Jaguars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Emerald Ridge saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Puttler, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was Puttler's first of the season.

Rogers pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Emerald Ridge, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-2.
