Basketball Game Preview: Campolindo Cougars vs. Alhambra Bulldogs

Campolindo has gone 7-0 against Alhambra recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Campolindo Cougars will be playing at home against the Alhambra Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Campolindo was able to grind out a solid victory over Miramonte, taking the game 59-49. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Matadors are ranked 388th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Campolindo's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gavin Rendle led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Rendle a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Devine, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Alhambra). They enjoyed a cozy 78-60 win over Antioch on Friday.

Alhambra's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Campolindo, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-4.

Everything went Campolindo's way against Alhambra in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as Campolindo made off with a 52-32 victory. Will Campolindo repeat their success, or does Alhambra have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
