Soccer Recap: Guthrie Takes a Loss

After flying high against New Hope last Saturday, Guthrie came back down to earth. The Bluejays came up short against the El Reno Indians on Tuesday, falling 7-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Guthrie of the 6-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Guthrie now has a losing record of 4-5. As for El Reno, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Guthrie will face off against rival Classen SAS at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, El Reno is set to challenge their familiar foe Guymon at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
