Softball Recap: York County Tech Spartans vs. Bermudian Springs Eagles

York County Tech managed to slip by Bermudian Springs the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Spartans came up short against the Eagles on Friday, falling 23-12. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2016.

Allie Wersinger was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Wersinger was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Anna Juliano made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Cadence Sawyer, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

York County Tech has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games.
