Basketball Game Preview: Ellsworth Panthers vs. Baldwin-Woodville Blackhawks

The Ellsworth Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Baldwin-Woodville Blackhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Ellsworth will bounce into Friday's game after beating New Richmond, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Ellsworth secured a 52-47 W over New Richmond on Thursday. The Panthers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, everything went Baldwin-Woodville's way against River Falls on Tuesday as Baldwin-Woodville made off with a 47-27 win. Given the Blackhawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 358th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Baldwin-Woodville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Ellsworth, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4.

Ellsworth came up short against Baldwin-Woodville when the teams last played back in February, falling 53-41. Can Ellsworth avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
