Softball Recap: Friday's Win Is Nettleton's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Nettleton won against Ripley on Thursday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Nettleton Tigers won by a run and slipped past the West Union Eagles 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since April 13, 2024.

Nettleton's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kennice Finnie, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that Finnie launched this season. Savannah Harlow was another, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Nettleton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-1-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. West Union suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 4-4.

Looking ahead, Nettleton will challenge Tupelo at 12:45 p.m. on Friday. As for West Union, they will face off against Mooreville at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
