Basketball Recap: Pendleton Heights' Undefeated Season over After Four Games

After flying high against Heritage Christian on Saturday, Pendleton Heights came back down to earth. The Arabians fell 57-47 to the Lawrence Central Bears on Tuesday. The Arabians haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Despite the loss, Pendleton Heights still got an impressive performance from Sami Brunk, who went 5-for-10 on her way to 15 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Brunk is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games she's played. Adah Hupfer was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and ten boards.

Lawrence Central's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aniyah Mckenzie, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Riley Schellhammer, who posted 14 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Pendleton Heights fell to 3-1. As for Lawrence Central, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Pendleton Heights has already played their next game, a 61-23 win against Greenfield-Central on the 21st. As for Lawrence Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-32 victory against Fort Wayne Snider on the 22nd.
