Volleyball Recap: Wadena-Deer Creek Takes a Loss

Wadena-Deer Creek suffered their biggest loss since September 23rd on Saturday. They came up short against the Hawley Nuggets, falling 3-0. The Wolverines haven't had much luck with the Nuggets recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

While Wadena-Deer Creek ultimately came up short, they really made Hawley work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 26-24, 25-18.

Hannah Stotts was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 15 digs and two assists. That's the most assists she has posted since back in September.

Wadena-Deer Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Hawley, they pushed their record up to 29-2 with the win, which was their 28th straight at home dating back to last season.

Wadena-Deer Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hawley, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against New London-Spicer on the 6th.
