Softball Game Preview: Whites Creek Cobras vs. St. Cecilia Academy Scarabs

The Whites Creek Cobras will head out on the road to take on the St. Cecilia Academy Scarabs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Whites Creek's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.

On Monday, Whites Creek got the win against East Nashville Magnet by a conclusive 17-10. The Cobras might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on India Taylor, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-2. Jamia Moore was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing five bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Taylor wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Whites Creek lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, St. Cecilia Academy started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet. They came up short against the Royals on Wednesday, falling 20-5. The defeat continues a trend for the Scarabs in their meetings with the Royals: they've now lost four in a row.

Whites Creek pushed their record up to 3-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 22.3 runs over those games. As for St. Cecilia Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
