Baseball Recap: Sebastopol Comes Up Short

Sebastopol came into this matchup off a tough ten-run loss last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Union Yellowjackets by a score of 8-6 on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellowjackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 last Tuesday.

Harrison Peebles was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Connally Gaddis was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Sebastopol has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-7 record this season. As for Union, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-8.

Looking ahead, Sebastopol will head out on the road to square off against Puckett at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Wolves will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Bobcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Union, they will be playing at home against Leake Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
