The Coffee County Central Red Raiders will square off against the Stewarts Creek Red Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Coffee County Central will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Coffee County Central took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. Everything went their way against Northwest as Coffee County Central made off with a 12-2 win. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Red Raiders this season.

Davis McKenzie was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Those hits marked the first that he got this season.
In other batting news, Cole Pippenger was incredible, firing off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-4. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Trevor Jesse, who scored three runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Coffee County Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Stewarts Creek earned a 7-4 victory over Dickson County on Saturday.
Preston Stewart looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Stewarts Creek let Ayden Jackson and Coleman Neas run wild. Jackson scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4, while Neas scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Jackson has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Shawn Rhodes was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles.
Stewarts Creek's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 4.5 runs. As for Coffee County Central, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Coffee County Central has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Stewarts Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Coffee County Central might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Stewarts Creek in their previous meeting back in March of 2017.
