Basketball Recap: Wickliffe Gets the Win

Wickliffe lost to Harding back in December of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Wickliffe Blue Devils managed a 65-59 victory over the Harding Skippers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.

Harding lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Yomar Castellano, who posted 25 points. Castellano is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games he's played dating back to last season. Jan Castellano was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards.

Wickliffe has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for Harding, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Wickliffe wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 67-51 loss against Crestwood on the 7th. As for Harding, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-41 win against Berkshire on the 3rd.
