Baseball Recap: Brownsville Takes a Loss

Brownsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 8-3 to the Charleroi Cougars. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 10-9 to the Cougars when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Brownsville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gene Thorpe, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Johnathan Vasbinder also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Brownsville's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Charleroi, they pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

While Brownsville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
