League recap: Strath Haven stuns Conestoga in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Strath Haven, who took down 116th ranked Conestoga, 21-14.

Patrick Moriarty and Andre Pendleton provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Haverford. The longest such play in Central this season, the connection resulted in 90 yards.

Harriton's dynamic duo of Moriarty and Juwan Valentine proved tough for the Fords to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Moriarty threw for 386 yards and three touchdowns and Valentine had 148 yards receiving. Pendleton helped Harriton's passing attack out by catching two balls for 92 yards.

Mike Dougherty was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 89 yards on 10 carries as Springfield lost to Haverford. Aaron Coyne also contributed to the rushing game with 67 yards on the ground.

Harriton's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Rams feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Moriarty has thrown for 1408 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, while Kenny Brown has 23 catches for 452 yards. Pendleton leads the league in rushing with 598 yards.

Two of the top units in Central will face off this week when the Cougars take on Ridley. Springfield's offense has scored 215 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Raiders have allowed only 70 on the year.

Ridley extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Lower Merion, 28-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for Dennis Decker's team.
