Basketball Recap: Avon Makes It Seven in a Row on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Centerville, Avon was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Irene/Wakonda Eagles as the Avon Pirates made off with a 41-20 win. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 21 points or more this season.

Avon pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Irene/Wakonda, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Avon will square off against Wagner at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Wagner will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Avon surely won't give up without a fight. As for Irene/Wakonda, they will take on Hanson at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
