Softball Recap: McNeil Comes Up Short

After flying high against Vandegrift last Tuesday, McNeil came back down to earth. The McNeil Mavericks lost 24-1 to the Vista Ridge Rangers on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mavericks of the 15-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

McNeil saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Gallo, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

McNeil now has a losing record of 3-4-1. As for Vista Ridge, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-4.

Looking ahead, McNeil will head out to challenge Hutto at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vista Ridge, they will face off against Round Rock Westwood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
