Soccer Game Preview: Stony Point vs. Round Rock Westwood

The Stony Point Tigers will take on the Round Rock Westwood Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Stony Point came up short against Hutto on Friday, falling 4-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Tigers came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 113th, while the Hippos are ranked 578th).

Stony Point's goal came courtesy of Maddox Hochevar, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Round Rock Westwood's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They and Round Rock finished up their match with a 0-0 draw. The result kept the Warriors happy, as they haven't lost a game since January 10th.

Stony Point's loss dropped their record down to 5-5-1. Round Rock Westwood's draw gives them a new season record of 7-2-2.

Stony Point beat Round Rock Westwood 2-0 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Will Stony Point repeat their success, or does Round Rock Westwood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
