Soccer Game Preview: McFarland vs. Reedsburg

The McFarland Spartans will venture away from home to take on the Reedsburg Beavers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Friday, McFarland came up short against Monona Grove and fell 3-1. While losing is never fun, McFarland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin soccer rankings (they are ranked 85th, while Monona Grove are ranked 30th).

Meanwhile, Reedsburg was able to grind out a solid victory over Beaver Dam on Friday, taking the game 3-1.

Reedsburg has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those five games. As for McFarland, they now have a losing record of 2-3-4.

McFarland took their victory against Reedsburg in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 4-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
