Recap: Linden Lions vs. Weston Ranch Cougars
The Linden Lions suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were dealt a 85-43 defeat at the hands of Weston Ranch. Linden was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-23.
Mateen Rafiq continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Weston Ranch, scoring 22 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Rafiq has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Damien Rease, who scored nine points along with eight assists and four steals.
Linden bumped their record down to 5-13 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Weston Ranch, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 16-3.
Linden will head out on the road to square off against McNair at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Weston Ranch, they will be playing at home against Edison at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Edison will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 338th, while Weston Ranch is ranked 79th).
