Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Grimsley couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the South Iredell Vikings by a score of  3-1 on Friday. The Whirlies' loss signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak.
 Grimsley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Max Snyder, who  went 1-for-3 with one  stolen base.
Grimsley's defeat dropped their record down to 23-5. As for South Iredell, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record  this season.
 Grimsley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Iredell, they will take on West Forsyth on Tuesday. The Titans' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6  runs per game  this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
