Football Recap: Katherine Smith Leads Hagerty's Defense on Friday

Hagerty got themselves on the board against University on Friday, but University never followed suit. They came out on top against the University Titans by a score of 13-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Huskies were the (much) better team in the second half.

Hagerty didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Smith, Cervantes, and Courtney Dusart picked up one apiece. Cervantes got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win made it two in a row for Hagerty and bumps their season record up to 2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 3.0 points on average over those games. As for University, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Coming up, Hagerty will head out to challenge Oviedo at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hagerty hasn't scored more than 13 points for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse. As for University, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Spruce Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
