Baseball Recap: Greece Arcadia Takes a Loss

Greece Arcadia extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 4-16 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Eastridge Lancers. Surprisingly, this marked the Titans' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Greece Arcadia got a good showing from Brady Parker, who struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. That's the fewest earned runs Parker has allowed over his last four matchups.

As for Eastridge, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since April 14th.

On Eastridge's side, Aaden Bishop spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up six Ks. Bishop also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Lancers are 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 7-9 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on James Dietz, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

Coming up, Greece Arcadia will look to defend their home field on Monday against Honeoye Falls-Lima at 5:00 p.m. Eastridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
