Football Recap: Warren County Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Warren County extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-8. They were dealt a 42-6 loss at the hands of the Skyline Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Hawks are ranked 119th).

As for Skyline, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.0 points over those games.

Zayden Burks had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 340 yards and five TDs while picking up 13.6 yards per carry. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 21 rushing touchdowns on the season.

Warren County and Skyline are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Wildcats will venture away from home to challenge Kettle Run at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars' defense has only allowed 4.5 points per game this season, so Warren County's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Skyline, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Meridian at 7:00 p.m. The Hawks will be up against the Mustangs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27.67 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
