Softball Recap: Friendswood's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

After a string of 11 wins, Friendswood's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Angleton Wildcats by a score of 5-4. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Friendswood's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 18-2. As for Angleton, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Friendswood and Angleton should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Friendswood will square off against Ball at 6:30 p.m. on March 25th up 575 places (37 vs. 612). Friendswood is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. Similarly, Angleton (ranked 27th) will meet Texas City (ranked 191st) at 6:30 p.m. on March 25th. Friendswood's pitching crew has only allowed 1.6 runs per game this season, so Angleton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
