The Plymouth Big Red will square off against the New London Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Plymouth will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Plymouth had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Willard on Friday. The Big Red put the hurt on the Crimson Flashes with a sharp 13-2 victory. The game marked the Big Red's most dominant win of the season.

Makayla Cunningham made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Cailynn Bailey was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That double was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Autumn Roberts, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Plymouth always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, New London earned a 14-10 victory over Loudonville on Thursday.
Paiton Shephard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and seven unearned) runs on ten hits.
At the plate, Madison Rowland was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Pailee Wilson, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Plymouth's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for New London, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.
Plymouth might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from New London in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Big Red avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
