Peru won the last time they faced Blackford and things went their way on Saturday too. The Tigers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Bruins 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since October 7, 2024.

Peru had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 25-14, 15-13.

Jacey Boswell paced Peru's offense, picking up 12 kills. Boswell got some help from Addie Buhtt and her 18 assists. Buhtt was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Peru has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. As for Blackford, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Peru didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against North Miami on the 16th. As for Blackford, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Huntington North on the 16th.
