Softball Game Preview: Danville Admirals vs. Garrard County Golden Lions

Danville is 0-10 against Garrard County since April of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Danville Admirals will square off against the Garrard County Golden Lions at 5:30 p.m.

Danville is leaving town to face Garrard County after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Danville lost 15-1 to Paris on Tuesday.

Danville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sienna Frink, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Garrard County made sure to put some runs up on the board against Shelby County on Monday. Everything went Garrard County's way against Shelby County as Garrard County made off with a 10-1 win.

Emily Hounshell made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, she gave up only three walks, the fewest she's had since back in March of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jazlynn Shelton, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Riley Murphy was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Garrard County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shelby County only posted an OBP of .400.

Danville might still be hurting after the 16-1 loss they got from Garrard County when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Danville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
