Basketball Game Preview: Del Oro Golden Eagles vs. Granite Bay Grizzlies

The Del Oro Golden Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Granite Bay Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Del Oro is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Oak Ridge on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Del Oro was outmatched by Oak Ridge and fell 79-47. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 409th, while the Trojans are ranked 129th).

Meanwhile, Granite Bay hadn't done well against Whitney recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Granite Bay secured an 82-77 W over Whitney.

Granite Bay's win bumped their record up to 8-19. As for Del Oro, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season.

Del Oro came up short against Granite Bay when the teams last played back in January, falling 76-72. Can Del Oro avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
