Baseball Game Preview: Western Brown Broncos vs. McClain Tigers

The Western Brown Broncos will take on the McClain Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. McClain took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Western Brown, who comes in off a win.

Western Brown is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Clermont Northeastern 14-1 on Friday. The Broncos have beaten the Rockets the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Rockets has come to flipping the script.

Aiden Jetter made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Carter Saylor was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Western Brown is 3-1 when Saylor posts two or more runs, but 4-6 otherwise. William Stewart was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs.

Western Brown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clermont Northeastern only posted an OBP of .316.

Meanwhile, McClain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 7-0 to Unioto.

McClain saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landen McNeal, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double. That hit marked the first that McNeal has got this season.

The win got Western Brown back to even at 7-7. As for McClain, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13.
