Softball Game Preview: Washburn Cardinals vs. Nedrose Cardinals

Washburn will face off against Nedrose at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Things were looking good for Washburn after they put the first run on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 13-2 to Beulah, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Cardinals have struggled against the Miners recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Nedrose faced Rugby in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Cardinals were the clear victors by a 19-4 margin over the Panthers. The victory was just business as usual for the Cardinals, who after five games remain undefeated this season.

Nedrose pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 17.8 runs this season. As for Washburn, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
