Football Game Preview: Freedom Patriots vs. Boone Braves + How To Watch

Freedom is 0-6 against Boone since October of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Patriots will square off against the Braves at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Freedom was handed a 31-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Oak Ridge 20-18. The score was all tied up 6-6 at the break, but the Patriots were the better team in the second half.

SWAYLIN LARONDE was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 98 yards and one score. Those 98 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Boone strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their defense stepped up to hand Colonial a 58-0 shutout. The Braves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 28 points or more this season.

Freedom better keep an eye on Sam Johnson. He was instrumental in Boone's win, throwing for 130 yards and four TDs on only 11 passes. Mayki Dennard-Scott was in the mix as well, providing the Braves with two touchdowns.

Boone's record is now 8-0. As for Freedom, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-6.

Freedom took a serious blow against Boone when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 68-0. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Johnson, who threw for 202 yards and six TDs on only 11 passes, and also punched in one score on the ground.
