Softball Recap: Cambridge Comes Up Short

Cambridge made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Fort Atkinson, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bluejays fell just short of the Blackhawks by a score of 5-3 on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bluejays of the 15-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

This is the second loss in a row for Cambridge and nudges their season record down to 2-6. As for Fort Atkinson, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cambridge will face off against Waterloo at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bluejays' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Fort Atkinson, they will square off against Oregon at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Blackhawks surely won't give up without a fight.
