Recap: Pinson Valley Indians vs. Silsbee Tigers
The Pinson Valley Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They fell 78-68 to Silsbee. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Pinson Valley came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 23rd in Alabama, while Silsbee is ranked 211th in Texas).
Despite the defeat, Pinson Valley saw an underclassman step up: Clyde Walters scored 25 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Walters scored a full 36.8% of Pinson Valley's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Camron Frost, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Pinson Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Silsbee, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season.
Pinson Valley won't have much time to rest: their next match is against White Hall at 10:00 a.m. on December 28th. White Hall is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Silsbee, they will head out on the road to face off against Vidor at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
