Recap: Lake Lure Classical Academy Raptors vs. Veritas Christian Academy Warriors
It was a good run, but the Lake Lure Classical Academy Raptors unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 72-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Veritas Christian Academy. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lake Lure Classical Academy in their matchups with Veritas Christian Academy: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite the loss, Lake Lure Classical Academy still got an impressive performance from Da'Zirus Watkins, who scored 25 points along with six assists and three steals. Watkins is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Barker, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Lake Lure Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Veritas Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Lure Classical Academy will take on The Master's Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Veritas Christian Academy, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Hickory Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th.
