Preview: Troy Warriors vs. Arcadia Apaches
Two dominant guards in Josh King and Noa Eteuati-Edwards are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Troy Warriors will square off against the Arcadia Apaches at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Troy had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bison and snuck past 75-73. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Meanwhile, even though Summit scored an imposing 56 points on Wednesday, Arcadia still came out on top. Arcadia walked away with a 69-56 victory over Summit. Given Arcadia's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while Summit is ranked 331st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Arcadia to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordan Dollar, who scored 20 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Eteuati-Edwards, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Troy pushed their record up to 20-10 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.7 points per game. As for Arcadia, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season.
