Preview: Deposit-Hancock vs. Oxford Academy Blackhawks
After two games on the road, Deposit-Hancock is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Oxford Academy Blackhawks at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Deposit-Hancock fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Morris Central on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Mustangs 70-66. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Blake Fortunato put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 24 points along with six assists and five rebounds. He scored a full 36.4% of Deposit-Hancock's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Alejandro Gonzalez was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought game, but Oxford Academy had to settle for a 38-35 loss against Marathon two weeks ago.
Deposit-Hancock's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-2. As for Oxford Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
