Basketball Game Preview: Central Christian Academy Chargers vs. Northside L Lions

The Central Christian Academy Chargers will take on the Northside L Lions in a tournament on Thursday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with nine consecutive losses dating back to last season for Central Christian Academy and four for Northside L.

Central Christian Academy is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Riverside on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Central Christian Academy was dealt a 67-13 defeat at the hands of Riverside. The matchup marked the Chargers 's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Northside L was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 55-51 to Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats.

Central Christian Academy will have to keep a close watch on JEFFREY WHEELER and ETHAN RODECKER, a pair of players who had a big impact on Northside L's prior game. WHEELER went 6 of 12 en route to 14 points and eight rebounds, while RODECKER posted 13 points along with seven boards and three steals. RODECKER is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of CAMERON BRUNK, who put up six points along with nine assists and seven boards.

Even though they lost, Northside L smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive contests.

Central Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Northside L, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-8.
