Basketball Recap: Mckeel Academy Skates Past Frostproof with Ease

There's no place like home for McKeel Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They blew past the Frostproof Bulldogs 52-7 on Monday. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 28 points or more this season.

Leading McKeel Academy to victory were Ava Anderson and Jenna Jordan. Anderson posted 29 points and three steals, while Jordan almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine steals. Anderson's evening made it 12 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Malayna Sheffield, who put up six points and eight rebounds.

McKeel Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

McKeel Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Frostproof, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-13.

McKeel Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lake Placid at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McKeel Academy is facing Lake Placid at the right time seeing as Lake Placid is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Frostproof, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll face off against Hardee at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
